I have two friends in the same hospital right now. It's a good hospital and one is scheduled to be released tomorrow. His procedure went well after 6 and a half hours in surgery and if this doesn't take it's either open heart surgery or a pacemaker. I'm sticking with this is the magic procedure that fixes everything. The other is just ill with some sort of flu. They are planning on keeping him a week and hopefully that's all it will take.

While I was there visiting, they had a list posted for what blood donations they needed. They were low on my blood type and since I was there with the sick friend's wife, I thought it would be a good thing to donate. Filled out the questionnaire and apparently because I was stationed in Greece and Portugual from 1992 - 1996, I'm not eligible to give blood because apparently those countries were exposed to I think Mad Cow disease from 1980 - 1996. And apparently there is like a ten year incubation period. I'm well and thoroughly irked at this. My blood is perfectly fine. I have lots of it. Well, the normal amount anyway. I don't like needles and since I'm just finding this out, I obviously don't even attempt this on a regular basis, but I want to. Never said I was logical. This coming from the girl who doesn't like sauerkraut, but loves Reuben sandwiches.

Lovely Ash Wednesday service at church. The Friday Night live on the 4th was kinda a memorial to Jackie who passed away. All her favorite songs and rememberances. Wonderful pictures of her and her mom and puppy. Her on Lake Conroe. There was a really good one of her in her robes for the sermon she preached at her church the Sunday before she went into hospital. It was sad, but nice. She would have really enjoyed it.
