I posted a month or so ago, that a dear friend, G, was in the hospital. He's been in and out several times since then, but won the battle with his insurance company. Seems there is only one doctor is all of Houston who does the surgery he needed, but said doctors isn't on his insurance plan.
He had open heart surgery yesterday. I stopped by after work, mostly to see M, but saw G for a minute. He was tired and out of it, but looked much better than I expected. He is in for a long recovery, but I have faith, and more importantly so does he, that this will do the trick. If you are so inclined, please add him to your prayer list. My personally feeling is that prayer is like blankets in winter - you can't have too many. :-)
On the writing front, I just found out about April Fools which is sort of like NaNo in that you have a word count writing goal to make in one month. The difference is that you get to set your word count. The minimum is 500 and the maximum is whatever your little heart desires. Lots of things can count towards the word count as well. Fanfic is welcome as is original fiction. If you're thinking of doing NaNo this year, this might be a good warm up/practice run.
