Is it wrong of me that I feel somewhat better with the models showing Rita moving further east? Houston will still be effected and flooding and tornados will still happen, so I don't know why I feel that way. Well, partly it's because I don't want to be on the dirty side of the storm. We were during Alicia and it wasn't that bad, except for the electricity being out for a week afterward. That was unpleasant - Houston in August with no electricity. Only time I ever heard Daddy say the "F" word, but with good reason. The HL&P truck kept trundling up and down the street and after the third time, Daddy'd had enough. It was funny, if odd.

I'm staying in town, but not at my house. I'm going over to a friend's tomorrow with dog, Cosmo, and cats, Arthur and Ashley, in tow. Set up the crate I got for Cosmo Monday there today. He's not going to like it, but blankets are drying now for him to burrow under. I have a seriously spoiled dog. I'm planning on being back home Saturday night. Or at least be able check and see if the electricity is on. I'm an optimist. Or really naive/dumb/idiot/whatever.

On a happier note, Miss Pat and I did go and see another unit at the fourth complex last Saturday. Really liked the townhouse - 2 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath, great view of the pool/lake area. The bosses went to see it Monday, after pointing out the hurricane path, and are going to make an offer. Maybe this will move more quickly than I thought.

Peace and blessings and safety to my Houston flist, staying here or leaving.
