And Houston won the Houston/Austin challenge for NaNoWriMo 2004!!!

I didn't win, but my paltry word count didn't hurt too much. We had several winners, one guy who broke 100,000 words, another who broke 90,000, someone else who broke 80,000. I'm amazed at what they accomplished. What I accomplished for that matter. More than I've ever done before that's for sure.

Of course, the insanity is that I have an inkling of an idea for next year's novel and have started doing some preliminary research so the ideas have plenty of time to percolate.

I think I might actually be a writer.

I told boyfriend that I was now going to call myself a "novelist." He said that "satirist" might be more fitting. But you know, I like "writer." It's short, sweet, and to the point.

Besides, I've always suspected you were a writer. And so did everyone else on Cabo Apapagaiada. ;-)
