Since I'd actually gone to see movies this weekend I was planning on posting anyway. I checked my flist and found this. Look at the challenge picture before reading the ficlet. It's truly demented in the most wonderful way possible. If you are a Buffy fan, I highly recommend [livejournal.com profile] speakr2customrs fan fiction. He can bring the funny like nobody's business.

Since I'm having a/c issues, I made a point of seeing movies this weekend. I saw Revenge of the Sith on Saturday. I was oddly satisfied and dissatisfied at the same time. I thought the story was well done and the acting much better over all that the two previous films. While I'm not quite hard-core enough to wait in line for months, I dearly love Star Wars. Loved R2D2 and I've always had a soft spot for C3PO. It did a wonderful job of answering the questions for how the story got from here (Eps I-III) to there (Eps IV-VI).

The dissatisfaction comes with all the CGI. The integration was flawless, but the dependence on it bothered me even more than the first two films. I guess I've just been watching too much Farscape, but I miss the original Yoda. Yes, the puppet would never have been able to do the light saber fights that the CGI Yoda did and those sequences were wonderful, but I was conscious of him not being real. Hence the too much Farscape connection. I guess I just think that just because you can do something doesn't mean you should. Now if I could just get that through my thick skull when it comes to eating.

I went to see Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy today. I really loved it. There was one sequence that I really didn't remember from the book, although it's been a while since I've read all of them, but I think it worked well enough. To me the best thing about it though was the casting. Absolutely perfect. My Alan Rickman love knows no bounds. Of course, I don't think it ever did, but there you go.

Okay, I'm going to be brave and throw this out there. I'm working on a Buffy fic, really long if it goes the way I plan. I'm looking for a good beta that would be willing in stick in for the long haul. I tend to be kinda slow when it comes to writing, but I'm hoping that if I get a good beta and start posting on a regular schedule then maybe I'll actually get a writing habit formed. I figure since artist practice copying the Old Masters to learn how to become artist, writing fan fiction should work the same way.

Thanks for reading.

My wife and daughter went to see Hitchhiker's Guide, and they really liked it, but I didn't go. I was quite content with the TV series and decided that I'd rather spend the time online.

There is no way that I'm ever going to see Revenge of the Sith, even when it comes to TV, because I just loathed and despised Phantom Menace so much.

Thanks for reading.

Thanks for writing, and for pimping my fics.

You're welcome.

I can see your point about both movies. I'm just too much of a completist not to see Sith. The thing that really annoys me about the whole thing, which shouldn't considering how bad TPM was, is that I remember Lucas saying that there would be three trilogies, Eps IV-VI, Eps I-III and then Eps VII-IX. This is a good place to stop though.

I haven't seen the Hitchhiker's series in so long, but like I said, the casting made it for me.

I do enjoy beta-ing on occasion, although I don't do a lot of smut. If it's smut-lite, I'd be happy to beta for you. Let me know.

No smut in this one. The idea of what would have happened in Season 3 if destroying the Box of Gavrox would have been the only way to defeat the Mayor has been running around my brain pretty much since then. Faith doesn't kill the volcano guy, but does poison Angel and fights with Buffy and does the coma thing, but comes out of it much more quickly. Buffy I'm sticking in a coma mostly because I don't want to deal with her. Ah, mostly because I want to explore how the Scoobies handle the big evil all on their own. Ensemble piece. Spike and Dru will return in all their Season 2 badness.

Probably more information than you needed or wanted. Anyway, if you're still willing, I'll send you the file this evening. Any format preference?

Sounds really interesting. I'd be willing to look at it, for sure. I prefer Microsoft Word, although I do have Word Perfect as well. Email is enigmaticblue at yahoo dot com.

I'm glad you got to do some moviegoing this weekend. Boyfriend and I did laundry and attended a party.

I'm actually reading "Hitchhiker's Guide" for my trip to Baltimore. I decided to read the book before seeing the movie, but I'm glad you enjoyed it. :-)

Hitchhiker's is not an exact adaptation of the book. I thought it was a good adaptation though. Kept the basic premise and feel of the book and a lot of details, but the movie was allowed to have a life of its own. Stressing that it was the casting I loved even more than the script. It worked for me.
