About six weeks ago, I had a bit of a temper tantrum here over dealings with the City. My appeal was this past Thursday and I was granted an extension/economic hardship permit for my mobile home. Bosses have offered to help me find a place, so I'll be spending the next two weeks while they are on vacation narrowing down and getting that moving along when they get back. I know where and what I have my eye on, God willing it will be there when they get back.

I could get used to this forward motion thing.

I'm happy to hear about this "forward motion" thing, too. :-) Re: housing, if you haven't checked it out yet, go to http://houston.craigslist.org and see what's available. Boston's Craigslist is a marvelous resource; I hope Houston's is as helpful to you.

Let me know if I can help. Love you!

Well, one advantage to having real estate appraisers (and agents) as bosses is that I have access to the Houston Multiple Listing Service. I've actually got it narrowed down to two townhouse complexes and one unit in each complex. I think I can email you the listings if you want to see. Both are really nice from the pictures that go along with the listings. Of course there will be painting that has to be done. One unit has the kitchen painted this shade of green that even I can't like. In the kitchen.

Of course, it means the trailer will be repossessed, but you know what? I don't care. I figure it can't hurt my credit any more than the bankruptcy and the townhouse will be better for my credit in the long run. It will have actual equity. :-)

Remember, Boyfriend and I nearly bought the house with the "Barbie Dream Bath," so I can sympathize.

It sounds like you have things well in hand right now. My offer to help still stands.

Of course, the one I think I'm really going to like has a rather dark strong blue in the master bedroom. John mentioned that was as needing to be painted and the green kitchen could be lived with. While I agree the bedroom would have to be painted, I could deal with it better than the yellowy green kitchen. Yuck.
