Just wanted to check in and see what was going on.
Very busy church week. Went to the installation of our new bishop on Sunday evening. It was very nice. I was in charge of guiding Miss Pat and when we went up for communion, we were served by our District Superintendent. Miss Pat is very memorable for many reasons and the DS gave her a hug before serving her. I did not get a hug. Miss Pat had to rub it in, of course. We went out to eat at 59 Diner afterwards. Very nice time.
Last night there was a fund raiser dinner held at the church. It wasn't raising funds for the church, but the local community center thingie. Fiesta Supermarket provided the food and cooks and the money goes to the organization hosting. Food was good and everyone seemed to have a lot of fun. Of course, the bad thing about having it last night was we had to miss a night of bible study. It looks to be a good class. Intelligent, interesting people who so far seem to enjoy discussing the hows and whys of whats in the Bible. We have one more person to join and then we'll have a total of six members including me, the idiot who agreed to be responsible.
This Friday is our monthly Friday Night Live. I should be able to see the sixth member of Disciple then, but I have to call her. It's being held at my church this time. I'm bringing cookies. Don't have time to bake though. I also need to call and see what I need to bring for the memorial service on Saturday. My pastor's friend passed away last Thursday and we're holding a memorial service for her on Saturday. A friend of hers has started visiting the church and will play piano Sunday when our pianist is on vacation. Going to RenFest. I'm so jealous.
Oh, and this Sunday afternoon is our local charge conference. Since our church is so small, as are several others in the area, we all meet together. We go over what we've done as a church the previous year, what the budget for the next year will be and who will serve in various positions in the church. But I think that's being held at a different church.
